Lucius and Narcissa first meeting?? 😆

the grand drawing room of malfoy manor was bright and inviting, filled with the warm glow of the late afternoon sun streaming through tall windows. the light reflected off the marble floors and gilded frames of ancient family portraits, but none of it seemed particularly important to the two children sitting quietly at opposite ends of the room.

narcissa black, seven years old, was perched on a velvet chair, her pale blonde hair neatly braided down her back. her blue eyes, wide with curiosity, kept glancing towards the young boy across from her - lucius malfoy. he was about nine, his own white-blonde hair styled perfectly, though there was a restlessness in his grey eyes. he fidgeted slightly, eager to be anywhere but stuck in a room full of adults talking endlessly.

at the centre of the room, their parents were deep in conversation. abraxas malfoy stood, looking regal as ever, his voice carrying easily as he laughed with cygnus black. evelyn malfoy and druella black were seated, leaning toward each other, clearly enjoying one another’s company. their conversation was light, their smiles warm, the atmosphere friendly.

“they’ve known each other since they were born, practically,” evelyn was saying to druella. “it’s so lovely to see how well they get on.”

“yes, it’s wonderful,” druella agreed with a smile, glancing over at the children. “they’ll grow up together, i’m sure.”

cygnus leaned back in his chair, a smirk playing on his lips as he glanced between the children. “they’re already conspiring, i think,” he said, his tone teasing.

lucius caught the hint of laughter in cygnus’ voice and turned to narcissa with a grin. “what do you think? should we sneak off to the gardens? the adults are so boring.”

narcissa giggled, her eyes lighting up at the idea. “yes, let’s go. i want to see the peacocks.”

without waiting for further permission, the two children quickly stood and made their way toward the large doors that led outside. the adults watched them go with fond amusement, clearly used to such behaviour.

“i remember when we were that age,” evelyn said, laughing softly. “always eager to escape the dull conversations of the grown-ups.”

abraxas chuckled. “they’ll be out there for hours if we let them.”

“let them enjoy it,” druella said, her tone indulgent. “they’re just children.”

cygnus, though smiling along with the others, kept an eye on his daughter as she slipped through the doors with lucius. he knew the malfoys well, trusted them, even. but something in him, a father’s instinct, always made him want to be sure narcissa was looked after - especially around boys like lucius, who were quick and clever and always seemed to have some mischievous plan.

out in the garden, lucius led narcissa down the stone path toward the grand fountain at the centre of the grounds. as soon as they were out of sight from the adults, they relaxed, their excitement spilling over. lucius grinned and ran ahead, calling back to narcissa. “come on! you have to see the peacocks, they’re right around here!”

narcissa chased after him, her giggles ringing through the garden. they reached the fountain, where the peacocks were strutting, their iridescent feathers catching the sunlight.

“they’re beautiful,” narcissa said, her voice soft with awe.

lucius nodded. “they are. but watch this.” he picked up a small pebble and tossed it lightly toward the birds, just enough to startle them into spreading their tails in a magnificent display.

narcissa gasped, her eyes wide with delight. “that’s amazing!”

lucius grinned, clearly pleased with himself. “i told you the gardens were fun. much better than sitting inside with our parents.”

narcissa nodded enthusiastically. “they just talk about boring things. i’d rather play out here.”

they spent the next hour running around the garden, exploring the maze of hedges and chasing after butterflies. lucius showed narcissa all his favourite hiding spots, and she, in turn, promised to show him the secret corners of the black family’s own garden the next time they visited.

back in the drawing room, the adults continued their conversation, unaware of the little adventures unfolding outside. cygnus, however, couldn’t help but glance out the window now and then, smiling to himself as he saw narcissa laughing, her pale hair catching the light as she ran alongside lucius.

“they’re going to be great friends,” evelyn remarked, noticing cygnus watching them.

“yes,” cygnus agreed, though his voice was thoughtful. “but i’ll always keep an eye on my little girl.”

abraxas smiled, clapping cygnus on the shoulder. “as you should. but i wouldn’t worry too much. lucius may be a malfoy, but he’s got a good heart.”

“he’d better,” cygnus said with a chuckle, though there was a note of seriousness behind it. “narcissa’s still young. i’ll make sure she’s looked after.”

the two men shared a quiet understanding, their long-standing friendship allowing for such unspoken agreements. meanwhile, outside, the children were far too busy enjoying their newfound friendship to care about the adult world they’d left behind.

This take on her is more of an AU where she is a mercenary boss with a bit more chaotic leaning. Still mighty, fierce, and as sharp wit as ever.

Happy Rockman Day! Time for this year's Megaman Summer Fanart Contest rules thread! Two categories, in which you are allowed to submit one entry for each category, if you would like. Ms. Museum Curator is back, looking for new pieces of art to display in the Kattleox Art Museum! A couple years ago for Valentine's Day, she needed your creations to display for an exhibit that featured a little bit of red and showed a little bit of love. This summer, her new exhibit is all about pastiche on your palette. What is pastiche? It's an artsy term that essentially means to imitate another work/artist/period. Or to just simplify it, we're talking a parody. So, for this theme, I would like you to parody any work of art, be it a famous painting, sculpture, etc.,…or maybe a piece that isn't as popular…only with Megaman characters involved in it.

As a visual example, way back in the CapcomUnity days, for Mega Man 10's release, there were fanart contests for each new Robot Master. When Solar Man came up, I decided to do an homage of this cognac poster art by Leonetto Cappiello:

Y'arr, ahoy me hearties! As voted by you on Twitter, the humor theme this year will be pirate-themed. Pirates have plenty of rep in the franchise, from Classic's Pirate Man, Marty and her band of pirates in Iwamoto's X manga, the Bonne family sky pirates, unused Tribe forms in Star Force, or, well…Ashe huntin' for booty.

For this theme, you can take any of those aforementioned pirate-y characters, or use any others of your choosing dressed up or acting like pirates, in the hunt for treasure. It could be a chest full of zenny, jewels, The Mother Lode, or whatever other booty you can imagine. The only problem is, this pirate treasure hunt is disturbing other characters who are just trying to enjoy a summer day on the beachy sands or the high seas. Your job is to draw the most hilarious scene in which this quest for a glorious bounty goes awry. Savvy?

Maybe abraxas comes back home from work and little lucius is very worried as to why his usually so cheery parents aren’t talking to each other at ALL so he becomes their wingman and helps fixes things between them.

Or you could do just whatever :)

evelyn sat in the drawing room, her fingers idly tracing the rim of her teacup. the soft ticking of the clock was the only sound, filling the otherwise tense silence that hung over the manor like a heavy fog. she hadn’t spoken to abraxas since the argument that morning, and though the words had been sharp, she couldn’t quite remember what had sparked it now.

lucius, their young son, peeked around the doorway. his silver-blonde hair, so much like his father's, was slightly mussed from his playing earlier, but his sharp eyes missed nothing. he had noticed the unusual quiet between his parents and, being perceptive even at such a young age, knew something was wrong.

abraxas came home from the ministry later than usual, the fatigue of the day settling into his bones. as he stepped through the door, the usual warmth of the manor felt muted. his wife wasn’t there to greet him, as she always did, and that absence stung more than he cared to admit. pride, however, kept him silent. he placed his cloak and hat neatly by the door, the clink of his cane the only sound as he made his way inside.

lucius frowned. he hated seeing his usually smiling parents so distant. to his young mind, it didn’t make sense — they were always together, always laughing, always so perfectly... them. determined, he padded down the corridor to his father’s study, where abraxas had disappeared to, and knocked softly.

“come in,” came abraxas’ deep voice, though it lacked its usual warmth.

lucius pushed the door open and, with all the innocence of a child, walked right up to his father. “father, why aren’t you and mother talking?”

abraxas looked down at his son, momentarily taken aback by the straightforward question. “sometimes, adults disagree, lucius,” he said, choosing his words carefully. “but that doesn’t mean we don’t care for each other.”

lucius frowned, clearly unsatisfied with the answer. “but you love mother. and mother loves you. so... say sorry. then everything can be happy again.”

abraxas couldn’t help but smile at his son’s earnestness. “it’s not always that simple, my boy.”

lucius huffed, hands on his hips in a perfect imitation of evelyn when she was frustrated. “i think it is. if you’re sorry, and mother’s sorry, then you should both say so.”

abraxas paused, looking down at the small boy who was so insistent on mending things. in his heart, he knew lucius was right — he was sorry. sorry for whatever petty argument had come between them, and sorry for letting pride keep him from resolving it sooner.

“you’re right,” abraxas finally admitted, his tone softer. “thank you, lucius.”

lucius beamed and, without another word, grabbed his father’s hand, pulling him towards the drawing room where evelyn still sat, lost in thought.

when they entered, evelyn looked up, surprised to see abraxas standing there with lucius practically dragging him forward. her eyes met abraxas’, and in that silent exchange, the weight of the argument melted away. it seemed so small now, so insignificant.

before either could say a word, lucius pushed them closer together, clearly proud of his efforts. “now, both of you say sorry, and then we can all have dinner.”

abraxas chuckled softly, the sound warming the room once more. “evelyn, i’m sorry. i was being stubborn.”

evelyn’s lips twitched into a smile, her heart softening at the sight of her husband and their earnest little boy. “i’m sorry too,” she said gently. “i didn’t mean for it to go on this long.”

abraxas reached for her hand, and when their fingers entwined, the last of the tension dissolved. lucius, satisfied with his work, clapped his hands. “see? now everything’s better!”

evelyn laughed, pulling her son into her lap and wrapping an arm around abraxas. “yes, darling, everything’s better now.”

abraxas leaned down to kiss her temple, his voice a soft murmur. “i don’t know what we’d do without him.”

lucius, unaware of just how much he had helped, grinned up at them both. “now can we have pudding?”

and just like that, the warmth and love returned to the manor, with lucius proudly leading his parents to dinner, certain he had saved the day.

I'm pleasantly surprised with how the romance between Zenny (neutral/chaotic good) and Astarion has progressed! She takes none of his shit, but also matches his sarcastic wit. Despite their differences, it is cute how Astarion gradually opens up and they become closer. <3
